Eric Carle illustrated created many wonderful books such as ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ ‘Brown Bear. Brown Bear What Do You See?’ and many more. In this half day workshop kids learn to create their own creature using the same painted collage method as Carle. Saturday 11th July 9.30am – 12.30pm 4 – 6 year olds. 300 RMB per child including materials.

The older age group will create their own illustrated story / book using Eric Carle’s illustrations as a starting point. Saturday 11th July 1.30pm – 4.30pm 7 – 12 year olds. 300 RMB per child including materials. email info@thestudio.cn for info/booking. Look forward to seeing you!

New Evening Class: Exploring Drawing

This 3 week course is purposely designed to reinvigorate your perception of drawing. Allowing a complete beginner and advanced practitioner the opportunity to explore and experiment through drawing. As part of the course you will learn how to draw representationally using conventional techniques and media.

We are uber-excited to be offering this unique foray into drawing which provides experimentation with a variety of traditional materials and a multitude of fascinating, contemporary, creative approaches to drawing and sketching. We are also very pleased to have a new instructor for the course, Lucinda Holmes, and genuinely look forward to sharing her passion for drawing and the arts.

The class begins Tuesday, November 11th and will be held the consecutive 2 Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. The duration of the course is 3 weeks. Tuition for the course is 600RMB.

How to use your digital camera to its full potential.

How to compose a photograph.

How to use Photoshop to enhance your photographs plus much more.
(Taught by a professional designer Jutta Friedrichs)

The workshop includes a photographic excursion and is very practical and hands on based. Students need to bring their own digital cameras and laptops, Photoshop can be provided free of charge.

Cost: 550rmb per person, the studio can organize printing

Places are limited to 8 people. RMB300 must be deposited at the studio by Wed, 5th Dec to guarantee you a spot.
